As part of a series celebrating Emirati Women’s Day this month, and in collaboration with Montegrappa, Emirates Literature Foundation brought together a select group of Emirati women creatives for an intimate literary salon — an evening to reflect on the works that have shaped us and the words we choose to leave for those who come after us.
Led by the eloquent host, publisher and translator, Fatima Al Khatib, the panel of distinguished creatives reflected on the books, writers, and works that have shaped them, and the experiences that continue to inspire their creative practice.

Each participating creative had written ‘A Letter to a Young Writer’, a personal message in the form of advice, a memory, a question, an encouragement, or simply something they wish they had known at the beginning of their own journey.
The salon concluded with a Q&A conversation, book signings, and an opportunity for attendees to meet and connect with the participating creatives and fellow guests.
