Projects we support:
Montegrappa, in a bid to support and promote the culture of writing, had launched the ‘First Fiction' competition (now 'Montegrappa Writing Prize') at the
2013 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. Since then, the competition has grown tremendously attracting a huge number of aspiring writers offering them the much-needed platform to get their work evaluated by a leading UK literary agent and potentially get published.
The range of aspiring writers, the breadth and depth of themes and topics in the works submitted, showcases the diversity of the United Arab Emirates and confirms that the Montegrappa Writing Prize bores fruit: it has become the catalyst it needed to be and fostered an enduring culture of writing amongst the UAE residents.
Keeping the writing culture alive in this day and age is one of the key missions we have committed to at Montegrappa. Our partnership with the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in creating the Montegrappa Writing Prize has proved successful, rewarding and relevant.
The Emirates Opera Project is the first professional opera group in the United Arab Emirates, composed entirely of locally-based talent. What began as a grass roots movement to spread the enjoyment of opera across the region has grown to become a highly professional group of singers, embodying the highest standard of vocal performance.
The singers of the project come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences but are all united by their talent, passion for opera and their desire to share that love with the citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates.
